This is a layout of what my daughter is learning. We find that having a layout week by week day by day makes it easier to keep track of what we're learning and to stay on track as well. It's a little scattered as I'm writing it as we use it.
Some of the materials I'm using. I will not be listing all the web lings unless to give recognition but will try and list all the books or hard material. Use 'control' and 'F' to scroll to whatever week your on.

- Jesus showed them He had the power to forgive sins by doing what? (answer: telling the man to get up and walk — It would have been meaningless if the man hadn’t been healed.)
- Who did Jesus come to save? (answer: sinners)
- Of course, this means Jesus came to save everyone because we were all born human, meaning we are all sinners until Jesus saves us. The Pharisees didn’t see themselves as sinners, though Jesus considers them some of the biggest sinners.

I know people today who rip their toilet paper the day before because ripping toilet paper would be “working” on the Sabbath. Do you think this is pleasing to God? Do you think that’s what He intended? Jesus asks them a question to keep them quiet. What does he ask? (answer: He asks if we should do good or evil.)

- A farmer is planting seeds. Some of the seeds grow. Some of the seeds get eaten. Some withered. Some were choked by thorns.
- What do those stories mean? (answer: Someone shares God’s Word with people. Some don’t let the word into their hearts. Some think the words sound good and want to be saved, but as soon as something hard comes along, they abandon God’s Word for what they think is best. Some accept God’s Word, but they desire money more or worry about themselves and don’t trust God and rely on Him. They abandon God’s Word for what they want even more. - We’re moving into a new era, the Renaissance. We’re coming out of the dark ages and into a period of new ideas. Renaissance means “new birth.” It was a new beginning. This period is from about 1400AD to 1700AD.
- There was one new idea, one invention that really made a turning point in history. It was a printing press. How often in your day do you see printed words? All the time!
- In the dark ages people thought they were Christians and serving God by killing Muslims during the Crusades. People made their own ideas of what God wanted because they had no way to know for themselves. They had no Bible to read! They knew only what they heard told them. What dangers can you think of if you could never read the Bible for yourself, and your family couldn’t read the Bible? How would you know the truth of God’s Word?
- Gutenberg changed all that with his invention.
- Read about Gutenberg and his printing press.
- Match the facts.
- Why would a printing press be so invaluable in a period of new ideas? (answer: It’s how the new ideas can be spread and taught to others.)
- How about some review by movie. See if you remember any of these big words about cells. You can take the quiz after you watch the movie. It’s okay if you don’t get all the answers right.
- Here’s another one about cells. Watch the movie and take the quiz. It’s okay if you don’t know all the answers.
- Make sure you are watching your growing things and making observations. What do you observe today?
- Another movie review day: Watch the video on plant growth and take the quiz.
- Watch the video on photosynthesis and take the quiz. It’s okay if you don’t get them all right. This is advanced.

Science 141
- Let’s look at plants that live in the water. Look at the picture on the page. Do you see the green stuff floating on the water? Those are plants. Ever see a picture of a frog on a lily pad? That’s a plant. Here are several pages of pictures of water plants. Take as long as you like to look at the pictures and see what kinds of plants grow in water. You’ll see they are called “Aquatic Plants.” That means “water plants.”
- What types of plants did you see?
Bible
- Read Romans 9
- These verses say that God is God and He can do whatever He decides to do.
- It compares us and God to what? (hint: verse 21) (answer: We are the clay and God is the potter.)
- What are the verses 30-33 about? (answer: It says that Jews tried to get right with God by following the law, but they couldn’t. Jesus was the “stone they tripped over.” It says that you can only get right with God by faith. In that way Jews and those who aren’t Jews can both be made right with God and have forgiveness and salvation.)
